I joined Hungerhill at the beginning of Year 10 after a very unhappy time at another school. I can honestly say that this was the best decision for my education that could have been made.

I spent two years being inspired to give my best and to strive for better. I found staff to be motivational and inspirational, and this was not just the teaching staff. This gave me the courage to give something back through the Summer Literacy School for Transition, and at parents' evenings. I immersed myself fully in the extra-curricular activities and school trips, and, although a cliche, I can honestly say that they were very happy times.

I went on to do A-Levels and have now just finished my second year at Sheffield Hallam University, where I am studying Forensic Accounting. Ultimately, I want to go into teaching and hope to become a motivator and inspirer in the footsteps of those that taught me at Hungerhill.

I still come back to Hungerhill regularly ​to volunteer in the SEN​ department. I am a uniformed member of the Salvation Army, which requires a lot of committment and time. In this role, I help run the youth groups, coffee mornings, and I am an active member of the Songsters choir. I am also part of a team of exam invigilators for a secondary school in Leeds.

In my spare time, I feed my passion and creative side; I bake and decorate cakes for family and friends. My recent successes have been an Xbox, complete with controller and game (all edible), as well as a cake featuring the Titanic sinking. I love the thrill of seeing it come together.
