School Council
The School Council is made up of representatives from each year group. Each year group has their own representatives who meet half termly with the Head of Year to provide valuable feedback and support the school to carryout consultation.
The school council has raised funds for a number of charities through traditional non-uniform days, including CLAPA (Cleft Lip & Palate Association) and MENCAP.
There have also been more alternative non-uniform days to raise money. For the British Heart Foundation, the school embraced Ramp Up the Red, a day on which everyone had to wear at least one item of red clothing. At Christmas, the School Council chose to raise money for Save the Children through a Christmas Jumper Day.
Other fund raising included the Connecting Classrooms project, linking our school with Apeguso Senior High School in the region of Akosombo, Ghana. The memorial garden was also completed during the Summer holiday of 2013.
The School Council has also been heavily involved in matters of consultation for school priorities, such as the new school day, school lunches, the KS3/KS4 Curriculum, Pupil Leadership, and the naming of the new block, as well as beginning to look ahead to a longer term goal of making us more environmentally friendly.
