Hungerhill School v Trinty Academy Years 7/8 Girls Football
The Year 7/8 girls team played against Trinity in a league game on the 16th January. Having drawn 1-1 against them in a previous tournament, both teams were eager to secure a victory this time round. The girls battled really hard in very windy conditions and Sofia Newbury kept them in the game with a number of brave saves. Despite conceding a goal half way through the first half, the girls kept their heads up and got their reward when a lovely sequence of passes gave Emily Taylor the opportunity to drive the ball towards and place it in the back of the net. Confidence was high at half time but unfortunately the girl's couldn't capitalize on the change of ends and the advantage of playing down wind. Once again, our goalkeeper (this time Jessica Lilley) pulled off some fantastic saves and defenders, Evie Stone and Esther Field, made some vital tackles to prevent Trinity from scoring and taking the lead. The game finished 1-1 once again. Well played everybody!
