On 18th September 2019, our Year 9 students were visited by Colour Sergeant Mike Beaton of the Royal Marines aka ‘Commando Chef’ who delivered a very engaging and enjoyable careers event. Using food to tell and inspire, he highlighted the importance of nutrition, healthy diet and exercise. Mike and his colleague Sam also spoke about their experiences in the Royal Marines, giving students an insight into a career in the armed forces. We are sure our students have been inspired to get cooking and make the chicken crème fraiche and strawberry and spinach smoothie, or even consider this as a career option when they leave Hungerhill.
